Anytime you see a redhead with freckles walking down the school corridor, you can be sure she is none other than Glenna Sue Doan. The parents of this ravishing redhead are Glenn and Doris Doan of Mound City. Sue was born in St. Joseph on June 11, 1947. She has attended MCHS all 12 years of her schooling. Even as a freshman she was active in school activities as secretary of her class. She has been on the Annual Staff four years and a member of Pep Club four years, two of which she was cheerleader. The FHA has also benefited from Sue’s services. She has been a member of the FHA four years and has served as reporter. Along with these extra-curricular activities, she also has scholastic abilities. She has made the honor roll seven out of eight semesters of high school. Sue has also won the Regent Scholarship. She received awards for outstanding accomplishments in athletics, speech and language. She plans to attend Maryville in the fall, majoring in her favorite subjects, French and Speech. Sue’s favorite song, foods, and colors are “Count Me In”, shrimp and ice cream, lavender and green. Her hobbies are sewing, swimming, reading, and interior decorating. Although there are many fond high school memories, Sue’s favorites are the class committee meetings for decorating for the prom in her junior year, the trip to St. Louis in her sophomore year after the music contest in Columbia and above all, quoting her words, “teasing Mr. Burrell and Miss Wheeler.”--VK. |
