Kathryn Jean Hollenbeck

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn R. Hollenbeck have every right to be proud of their daughter, Kathryn Jean, born March 13, 1947. Surely you have noticed Kay’s smile and cheerful laugh.

Kay Jean has had varied extra-curricular activities. She has lettered in girls’ basketball four years, girls track one year, has been a member of senior band five years and Pep Club four years. She was a cheerleader two years. She also attended state music contest one year and was a member of chorus three years. Kay has contributed to the annual staff as business editor for two years and staff member three years. She has been a member of FHA four years one of which she served as historian.

Kay Jean has many scholastic abilities included with her extra-curricular activities. She has made the high scholastic honor roll four years. She was president of her junior class and coordinated the junior-senior prom. She has received many honor awards. Among these are, alternate for UN Pilgrimage; Girls State, candidate for Girls Nation, the Curator’s Award, and a merit scholarship to NWMS College at Maryville. She was awarded a school letter for all four years. She also received the Citizenship Award and was given honorable mention toward the English Award.

Kay plans to attend NWMS College at Maryville in the fall to become a teacher and is thinking seriously about studying in France or traveling there sometime. Kay also plans to further her swimming education (her favorite hobby) and to continue her teaching of Red Cross swimming lessons.—KB.
