Stephen Lee Buckles

Another active student at MCHS is Stephen Lee Buckles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin C. Buckles.

Steve was born on May 8, 1947, and has lived in Mound City ever since. He has attended school at Mound City all twelve years and has been a very active person.

Since his freshman year, he has been on the honor roll 14 quarters, vice president of his sophomore class, student council member his senior year, and on the sales and advertising staff of the annual all four years. He has also taken part in football, 3 years, and track, 1 year.

Steve’s future plans include attending Columbia Engineering School for undergrads, holding a part-time job, swimming, playing tennis, and goofing around. Where there’s fun, there is Steve, and he proved this to be true at the senior play when he played, “Dr. Brown.”

Steve is the second of three boys and is a very lively one at that. His favorite song is “The Birds and Bees” and you’ll likely hear him sing it if you’re near him for awhile. His favorite color is cherry red and his favorite food is banana nut bread.

With all his other interests he still finds time for his favorite hobby—girls. –LC.
