Steve Couts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wilmes, was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Maryville, MO. Before Steve came to MCHS, he attended Maryville’s St. Patrick’s School his first year. Next he attended grades two and three at Tarkio. The first half of his fourth grade was spent in Craig and he finally joined the Mound City School that winter. Where there are sports, there is Steve, as everyone in MCHS knows. A six foot one inch brown-haired, green-eyed, 170-pound senior, he has lettered three years in football, two years in basketball, and one year in track. Also in football, he won all conference honorable mention his senior year. He says his hobby is any sport and this has proven to be true. Leadership must be a characteristic of Steve because he was elected president of his class his freshman year. His future plans are to attend Northwest Missouri State College next fall. His favorite song is the “Game of Love” and his favorite food is cherry pie. Steven’s fondest memory of high school is his junior-senior prom his junior year.—BD. |
